I finally have a new car!

Yay, I have a new car! It's a shiny Mercedes Benz C180, what do you think? I decided it was time I upgraded...

No more crappy old Astra Diesel, this thing is fast, rear wheel drive, super comfortable, and has all the extras I could ever wish for! I think I have now been converted to Mercedes Benz forever!

Site speed is important!

Well, I finally got around to rebuilding my website. It's not 100% complete yet, I still need to roll out the comments site wide - but I'm almost there.

The reason for the redesign was that the last version was running off Wordpress, and it seemed to be running very very slowly, and I had a hunch this was turning people away from the site. I decided to rebuild the site from scratch, using my own custom framework, and the site now zooms along quite happily! This does seem to have impacted traffic, and it has increased steadily over the last few days at last!

Nine Inch Nails?

I never thought I would listen to Nine Inch Nails, but theres been quite a lot of hype recently about their new buy online album, "Ghosts". I took a visit to the site, and decided to try the free 9 track download to see what it's like. It's a completely instrumental album, something I never realised, however this is what made me like it the most. I have to say, it's fantastic. I now own the full 36 track album ($5 to download from their website), and it's blown me away. It's extremely cheap, well worth every penny (or cent, depends where you are!). The musc is mostly in a melodic style, which is great to listen to when coding I think.

Earthquake...

Well, we had a farily impressive Earthquake last night! I was happily sat at my desk around 12:55am, when all of a sudden the room began to shake. At first I thought it was someone upstairs just moving some furniture, but it steadily grew stronger and stronger very quickly. Then we realised what was going on!

In all, it only lasted about 10 seconds I think, and the BBC reports that it was a 5,3 magnitude quake. Damn, it didn't half feel powerful though! I have been in an Earthquake before, when I lived in Germany, but I slept right through that one...

Damn it's cold

We are getting some really cold weather here lately - cold for England anyhow. This is what I was presented with today (not long before lunchtime if you can believe it!)
